Women are better at handling the family money than men.

Men are traditionally known to be in charge of the family funds, and also the paying of bills. However a recent study has shown that women are actually more skilled at budgeting and keep track of household funds. It also shows that they are also less likely to build up debts and fewer women pay bills late or completely forget pay them, compared to men.

A Spokesman for the money management website lovemoney.com which carried out the survey said, “For years, women have been thought of as the big spenders, splashing their cash on clothes and shoes. But it seems men are now gaining their own reputation.” The study of 3,000 Britons also revealed that the average man has a debt of £2,176 on their credit card, compared to women whose average is only £1,987. Only 20% of people asked thought this would be the case, with 60% thinking that both men and women’s debt would be the same.

A quarter of men asked admitted to paying their bills late or even forgetting to pay them all together. In comparison only 17% have made the same mistake. One in 20 men admit that they have absolutely no idea about the state to of their family finances, overspend and forget to pay bills, with 57% of women who know exactly what the family can spend each month. When asked only 20% of people believed that women were better at handling the finances and 70% believed that men and women were both the same.

Age of Childbirth

With teenage pregnancy on the rise in the UK the question emerging from the general public is...
What is an expectable age to give birth?
In a recent survey looking at people between the ages of 10-70 we dove in to asking what is the expectable age for child births?
The youngest child to have ever given birth was 5 year old Peruvian girl called Lina Medina in 1939 and the oldest woman to have ever given birth was 70 year old Omkari Panwar only just in 2008.  People agreed with the fact 5 was too young and 70 was too old to get pregnant however if it came to the fact of getting pregnant it wasn’t to young or old to give birth? The question implies not the age of child birth it’s self but pregnancy leading to childbirth. Men had an older view on the maximum age of pregnancy around 51-55 and some even saying there wasn’t an age limit. How ever women believed that the maximum shouldnt be any older than 45 the minimum age was agreed with all the ages and genders that 21-25 was the best age to give birth as your not too young that you can’t support the child nor too old as to higher the risk of birth abnormalities.
The question of quality of life is the main debate will children with older parents have a worse quality of life than children with younger parents.
22% of males believe that for certain children with younger parent would have a worse quality of life, where as women believe that it wasn’t for certain merely in some cases. 66% of men however were sure children wouldn’t have a worse life with older parents, as they are more likely to be better off finically.
When asked should there be a law on older couples having children men with a 77% ruling said no where as women with a 60% ruling said yes.

But with medical advance lengthening life and teenage pregnancy on the rise will older & younger parents be social excepted and embraced as a way of life or possibly shunned and disgraced  but the question must be asked What is an expectable age to give birth?

Body Image

Whenever you turn on the television or look in a magazine you are flooded with images of celebrities you may look up to looking perfect, with not a spot or blemish in sight. This however, is not a true representation of them. These pictures are nearly almost airbrushed, whether its to hide a spot or to define a waist. With this in mind we asked 15 boys and 15 girls between the ages of 13 and 14 if they could correctly  identify which of the following celebrity pictures was airbrushed.  They could 100% of the time however, the girls would still prefer to have the airbrushed body than the natural body.

We think pictures in the media contribute to unhealthy body image in young girls. These pictures are sometimes used for various things including makeup and hair advertisements where they show flawless models wearing the product. By using flawless and perfe

ct models, the consumers ie. Young girls believe that they need the product to look beautiful. The pressure from these pictures can be too much if they do not end up looking like the model in the advertisement. Which leads to depression, low self esteem, no confidence and eating disorders.

We asked girls what they would change about themselves if they could. Our survey concluded that the majority of girl we asked would change their weight over anything else. The survey we conducted showed that us that most of the girls we asked thought that boys rated looks over other things, however the boys said that they would prefer a girl with a good personality than a girl with good looks.

The conclusion we have drawn are based on the answers by the people surveyed, but the pressure of the survey may have caused some people to answer untruthfully.

As three 13 year old teenage girls our views are:

“We think that people who wear low cut tops or short skirts are not necessarily slutty if they wear it them to feel confident and good about themselves not to just impress boys or get the wrong attention, however there is a way not to wear them and going to the extreme is not always a good idea.”
